About Us

Run with Meirionnydd

Friendly miles. Big hills. Good people. Welsh Athletics Off-Track Club of the Year 2025.

Meirionnydd Running Club is a welcoming, adventurous club based in Southern Snowdonia, with runners in Dolgellau, Bala, Bangor and beyond. New to running, coming back, chasing goals or just looking for good company? You belong here.

Founded in Dolgellau in 2006, we have grown into a community of more than 180 runners, joggers and social members. We are affiliated to Welsh Athletics for road, fell and cross-country running, with members ranging from first-timers to international athletes.

Why run with us?

We run for fitness, friendship, adventure and fun. Expect social runs, training sessions, races, leagues, talks, trips away and plenty of support — whether you want relaxed miles or a new challenge.

A club for every kind of runner

You do not need to be fast to belong. We welcome juniors aged 11+, beginners, social runners, road racers, trail lovers, fell runners and experienced competitors. Come for the miles, the mountains, the people — or all three.

2025: a year to be proud of

In 2025, we were named Welsh Athletics Off-Track Club of the Year — recognition for our runners, coaches, volunteers, organisers, supporters and everyone who makes the club special.

Proud hosts of the 2025 UKA Fell Relays

We were proud to successfully host the 2025 UKA Hill and Fell Relay Championship at Penantigi Isaf, near Dinas Mawddwy. It brought clubs from across the British Isles to Meirionnydd and showcased what we do best: teamwork, hospitality, tough terrain and community spirit.

Thinking of joining? Come along, meet us and give it a go. Bring your shoes, your questions and your curiosity — we would love to welcome you.
