Presentations after the race

Two Goats ran this WFRA N Wales Series race today. Chris McLean managed to arrive at the start in final place even behind notorious late arrival Nich Bradley. Neither of us were to podium possibly due to the heat and possibly the lack of Local Knowledge - Chris’ first time and its 20 years! since I last did it. Whilst the route up is all too obvious there are several opportunities for cross country time saving on the way round -if you get it right. Chris still managed 4th place in 1:47:27 I thought I was last but scraped home right at the back (74/81) in 2:53:32 nearly half an hour behind M70 winner Mike Snell. However due to his youth Mike is an M60 for the series so there is hope yet! Aberqwyngrgyn is a lovely village I thought as I lay once again in the gutter, ( sparking memories af the gutter outside the pub in Rachub after another hot day on the Carneddau) so much so I considered staying there for ever -in the gutter. However I had to climb the stairs to rescue my kit bag and passing the cafe I found a Magnum provided enough cold sugar to get me up to the presentations, cruelly on the first floor. Chris seemed quite sprightly as he went off for his long drive home. For me - well if you are as old as you feel wish me a Happy 106th birthday! Musn’t leave it 10 years til next time!
