Goats and sun shine at this year’s Trailffest

Nine club runners took on the off-road half marathon on Saturday, delivering personal bests, age-group podiums and a strong showing from the women’s team.

Seven women and two men represented the club at Trailffest, making it a memorable day of trail racing in the sunshine. Conditions underfoot were excellent, giving the team every opportunity to run strongly over the challenging half-marathon course.

There was plenty to celebrate at the finish. Jean Ashley and Helen Jones recorded personal bests, while Juliet Edwards won the Vet 60 category. Allanah Fenwick placed third in the Vet 40 category, Jean added second place in the Vet 60 standings, and Frank Vaughan secured second in the Vet 70 category.

Congratulations to all nine runners on a fine set of performances and a brilliant display of club spirit on the trails.
